Circa NFL Contests Shatter Records with $20M Total Prize Pool

The deadline to enter Circa Sports' renowned NFL competitions, Circa Millions and Survivor, was today. With a total of $20.26 million submissions, the two competitions broke previous records.

With 14,266 entrants at $1,000 each, Circa Survivor alone generated $14.26 million in prize money, surpassing the record $16 million in guaranteed rewards that the sportsbook operator had promised when it launched the contests for the 2024 season. The combined number of submissions for the two competitions was $14 million last year.

"The prize pool for Circa Survivor will go to the last person (or people) standing. It will consist of up to 20 legs throughout the year, one for every week of the football season plus two special weeks,” according to a statement issued by the gaming company. “Each week, participants will choose a team to win straight up, but the player cannot pick the same team twice for the duration of the season. Thanksgiving/Black Friday and Christmas Day will each be considered their own contest weeks.”

Survivor quickly rose to prominence as one of the nation's most well-liked regulated NFL pool tournaments. Both professional and amateur bettors are drawn to the enormous prize pool and the fact that they are not required to choose against the spread.

Being a Circa Survivor Is Hard

Each participant in Circa Survivor must select one NFL winner, but they cannot go against the spread. That task may seem simple to some inexperienced participants, but it's not

The fact that players can only choose a side once during the season makes the competition hard to win. For instance, a competitor who selected the Philadelphia Eagles last night or the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night sees their entry advance and survive, but they are not permitted to utilize those teams again for the rest of the 2024 season.

Additionally, contestants in Circa Survivor are caught off guard by the division of the Thanksgiving and Christmas Day games. Participants might want to exercise caution when employing too many of those six teams before Thanksgiving Day, as there are three games scheduled for that day this year.

There are only two games, which might make Christmas even more difficult. The Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens are the teams that many Survivor contestants would be likely to select well in advance of December 25.

About a Million in Powerful Form, Too

5,871 entries were received for the sixth edition of the Circa Million challenge, yielding an overlay of $183,000. The ability to select NFL games against the spread is put to the test in that contest.

“Each player will make five picks against the spread each week via the Circa Sports Nevada mobile app, a Circa Sports kiosk or over the counter at any of the six Circa Sports locations in Nevada. One point will be awarded for each correct selection and one-half point for each push,” according to the statement.

Throughout the season, Circa Million gives 125 more possibilities to win, including cash for those who place second to 100 and quarterly awards, in addition to the $1 million awarded to the winner.
