BetMGM Winner Hits $6.4M Jackpot, Sets US Online Record
One fortunate player won $6.4 million in a BetMGM Casino game on Monday morning, setting a new payout record for online casinos, the firm announced. In New Jersey, the unidentified individual wagered $200 and won the progressive prize.
“It is the largest jackpot in the history of the legalized online casino industry in the United States,” BetMGM, the iGaming and online sportsbook platform of MGM Resorts International, said in a statement on Tuesday.
While playing the Fruit Blaster game, the unknown player earned "The Big One" jackpot.
Winners of the five-reel slot machine game Fruit Blaster receive a variety of symbols, including oranges, cherries, lemons, and plums.

In February, the progressive jackpot hit $4 million. It set a new record for the business.

“It’s these — you never know when moments — that make progressive jackpots especially thrilling,” he added in the statement. “In addition to the jackpot, we hope the player enjoys their trip to an MGM Resort in the near future.”
BetMGM, Borgata, Wheel of Fortune Casino, and Party Casino are online casinos in New Jersey where players can compete for the progressive prize.
Following this week's payout, the Big One progressive jackpot on BetMGM in New Jersey was reset. On Tuesday, it was at $1.2M.
The BetMGM Casino platforms distributed $138 million last year. When compared to jackpots given in 2022, that is a 32% increase.
Over half of the total payouts in 2023 came from money won by BetMGM Casino players on Entain's games, including MGM Grand Million Megaways and Bison Fury.
Players in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia can access BetMGM's online casino games. In addition to 22 states, the platform's online sportsbook is also open in Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico.
