Max Holloway Betting Favourite to Take Out Charles Oliveira at UFC 326
Charles Oliveira is attracting the most wagering attention for his UFC lightweight match this evening in Las Vegas against Max Holloway, where he is the underdog, as per BetMGM.
Holloway As The Betting Favorite
Holloway holds a record of 27-8-0 (wins/losses/draws), accumulating 12 victories by knockout throughout his career. He also possesses the BMF (“Baddest Motherfer”) title, which is mostly regarded as symbolic. In contrast, Oliveira's record stands at 36-11-0, with 10 knockouts to his name before the fight tonight. He recently achieved a submission victory in the second round against Mateusz Gamrot during a UFC Fight Night last October. Prior to that, he experienced a shocking knockout defeat to Ilia Topuria at 2:27 in the first round during a lightweight championship match at UFC 317 last June.
BetMGM has assigned Holloway a line of -220 for tonight’s contest, accounting for 28% of the wagers and 41% of the total handle. Meanwhile, Oliveira is positioned at +180, receiving 72% of the bets and 59% of the handle directed towards him.
Rematch Of Former Champions
The main card commences tonight at 9 p.m. EST at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
“The main event of UFC 326 features two of the most exciting fighters we have ever been lucky enough to see compete in Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira,” said Alex Rella, Trading Manager, BetMGM.
“Fans don’t expect this rematch between two former champions to go the distance as our most popular props are Holloway to win by KO/TKO and Oliveira to win by submission. By the time the cage doors close, I expect our heaviest liability will be on Holloway to win in the last minute of the fifth round, given his patented (and epic) point downs once there is only 10 seconds left in a fight.”
Oliveira Winning by Submission
The majority of placed bets involve a matchup between Holloway and Oliveira, followed closely by Drew Dober (-120) against Michael Johnson (+100), Cody Garbrandt (+140) going up against Xiao Long (-170), Caio Borralho (-235) battling Reinier de Ridder (+190), along with Gregory Rodrigues (-180) facing Brunno Ferreira (+145).
Following Oliveira, the next fighters with the highest number of winning bets (tickets) include Holloway, Garbrandt, Dober, and Ferreira, while the top contenders in terms of total winning bets (handle) are Oliveira, Holloway, Raul Rosas Jr. (-235), Cody Duren (+140), and Dober.
In terms of popular betting props (tickets), the standout choices are Oliveira winning via submission (+300), Holloway winning by KO/TKO or DQ (+150), Luke Fernandez, from the early prelims, winning by submission (+1400), Oliveira winning by decision or technical decision (+1200), and Durden winning by decision or technical decision (+450).
On theScore Bet, the odds for Holloway stand at -210, while Oliveira is at +180.
